Our story... <3

Bernard and I met online in early 2019. It was pretty much love at first 'type'. After a few dates and some time together, we both knew this was it, we were meant to be.

As he knew I was brought up with very old school traditions and values, he asked me to be his girl after a month of us talking online and a couple of dates. We dated for 4 months and he then asked my parents for their blessing before getting down on one knee and proposing. We got married on 12th December 2020.

Bernard was one of the most thoughtful, caring, gracious and kind hearted people I had ever met. He was a dreamer. I always used to tease him that he lived in a fairytale land, but that's just who he was. He always hoped for the best in all situations, an optimist. He loved to live life and be in the moment. He had a heart of gold and would give the shirt off

his back to help someone in need. I never once had to doubt his love for me. He always wanted the best for me, wanted to make me smile and would move mountains to try and make that happen.

COVID-19 took quite a toll on us during 2021. Bernard owned a restaurant during the time of the pandemic, and was knocked quite hard financially. This unfortunately got him into some deep waters, and although we tried to get out of it and back on our feet, his ultimate dream of owning a restaurant, ironically ended his life. Behind closed doors, it was all too much for him.

And so, on the 6th December 2021, he had a moment of weakness, a lapse in judgement if you will, and decided to end it all. Although my heart yearns for him on a daily basis, sometimes an hourly basis, the one thing that brings me peace during this time is knowing that he is whole again. He is happier than he's ever been and he is at peace. He is sitting at Jesus' table, feasting with him and worshipping Him. He is good.

I miss you my sweet angel, now an angel of heaven. I can't wait to see you again on the other side.
